The Fox and the Grapes

A Fox one day spied a beautiful bunch of ripe grapes hanging from a vine trained along the branches of a tree. The grapes seemed ready to burst with juice, and the Fox’s mouth watered as he gazed longingly at them.

The bunch hung from a high branch, and the Fox had to jump for it. The first time he jumped he missed it by a long way. So he walked off a short distance and took a running leap at it, only to fall short once more. Again and again he tried, but in vain.

Now he sat down and looked at the grapes in disgust.

“What a fool I am,” he said. “Here I am wearing myself out to get a bunch of sour grapes that are not worth gaping for.”

And off he walked very, very scornfully.

There are many who pretend to despise and belittle that which is beyond their reach.

Moral of the Story: 

Sometimes, when we really want something and can’t get it, we say it’s not good or that we don’t want it anymore. This is what the fox did with the grapes. He tried many times to reach them but couldn’t, so he told himself that the grapes were probably sour and not worth the effort. But just because something is hard to get, doesn’t mean it’s not good or worth trying for.

We should not give up too quickly or say bad things about what we can’t have. Instead, we should keep trying and working hard. If we always give our best effort and don’t let failure discourage us, we can achieve many things. Remember, it’s okay to fail, but it’s important to keep trying and stay positive. Don’t let disappointment make you think less of your dreams and goals. Keep believing in yourself and never stop trying!
